What would it be ‘to film with the body’? Is it possible to film as if we stroked? Would it be possible to film the world-life as Clarice Lispector writes?

The audiovisual installation Viviendo el Día (Living the Day) that is shown in the Water Deposit takes as its central motive a dogs’ walk to generate a reencounter with the world-life through the sensory.  The various projections of the installation compose a fragmented narrative of the experiences of this walk through different types of recordings. The narratives of the Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector that suppose an affirmation of life are the starting point of this project. Also, her work insists on the extraordinary within the everyday and explores the limits between binary categories, being these important characteristics of this installation.

Viviendo el Día (Living the Day) is part of an ongoing artistic research that explores the proposition of ‘filming with the body’ and seeks to ‘rematerialize vision through touch’. This work addresses the concept of ‘haptic visuality’ in and through in-and-through a filmic and installation-based practice. Specifically, this research explores the affective friction (graze, rub, touch, stroke…) that operates between the camera’s eye and its filmed surroundings, as well as between the audience and the immersive installation.

This work has been exhibited at Centro Cultural Montehermoso, Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain), April-June, 2018, and at Myths of the Near Future, TEA, Tenerife, Nov-Marzo, 2019.

¿Cómo sería “filmar con el cuerpo”? ¿Es posible filmar como si acariciáramos? ¿Sería posible filmar el mundo-vida como Clarice Lispector escribe? 

La instalación audiovisual Viviendo el Día toma como motivo central el paseo de un grupo de perros para generar un reencuentro con el mundo-vida a través de lo sensorial. Las diferentes proyecciones dela instalación componen una narrativa fragmentada de las experiencias de dicho paseo a través de distintos tipos de grabaciones. El punto de partida de este proyecto son las narrativas de la escritora brasileña Clarice Lispector que suponen una afirmación de la vida.Asimismo, su obra insiste en lo extraordinario dentro de lo cotidiano y explora los límites entre categorías binarias,que son características importantes de esta instalación.

Viviendo el Día es parte de una investigación artística en curso que explora la proposición de “filmar con el cuerpo” y que busca“ rematerializar la visión a través del tacto”. Este trabajo aborda el concepto de ‘visualidad háptica’ en y a través de la práctica cinematográfica y de la instalación. En concreto, esta investigación explora la fricción afectiva (raspar, frotar, tocar, rozar…) que opera entre el ojo de la cámara y su entorno filmado, así como entre el público y la instalación inmersiva.

Este trabajo se ha expuesto en el Centro Cultural Montehermoso, Vitoria-Gasteiz, abril-junio 2018, and at Mitos del  futuro proximo, FOTONOVIEMBRE, TEA, Tenerife, noviembre 2019-marzo, 2020.
